✏️ Writing Fun: Short Forms & Feelings ✏️
Welcome to our writing adventure! Today we’ll learn about short forms of words and how to write about our feelings!
Short Forms and Long Forms
What are Short Forms?
Short forms are when we combine two words and use an apostrophe (‘) to make them shorter and easier to write!
Example: do not becomes don’t
Remember the Apostrophe!
The apostrophe (‘) takes the place of the missing letters.
I am → I’m (the ‘a’ is missing)

Writing About Feelings
Expressing Emotions
We can use words to describe how we feel. This helps others understand our emotions!
Example: “I feel happy when I play with my friends.”
3. Complete with a feeling word: “I feel ______ when I get a new toy.”
4. Which sentence correctly uses a short form?
5. What’s missing in this short form: “Shes happy”?
