📌 Introduction
Reported speech is used to report what someone said without using their exact words. We change the tense and pronouns.
Direct: “I am tired.” → Reported: He said he was tired.
📚 Key Changes in Reported Speech
- Present Simple → Past Simple: “I like science.” → He said he liked science.
- Present Continuous → Past Continuous: “I am studying.” → She said she was studying.
- Will → Would: “I will help.” → He said he would help.
- Can → Could: “I can swim.” → She said she could swim.
- Pronouns change: “I am late.” → He said he was late.
Tip: Use said or told (told + person): “He told me he was busy.”
